Sow directly into mounds in groups of 4 seeds. Temperature should be ~20°C for seeds to get the best start. Space seeds 50-60cm apart. After the seedlings emerge, thin out leaving only the 2 strongest seedlings in the group. Pinch out growing tips to encourage branching and fruiting. Keep vines regularly watered during growing season to prevent fruit from splitting while growing.
Increase the harvest by hand-pollinating the flowers. Leave to ripen on the vine, harvest only when the connecting stems wither and dry.
